Yuri Napso on politically motivated and openly persecuted opponents as a principled MP
The former deputy addressed his online audience on his official Telegram channel : "Thank you to everyone who is paying attention to what’s happening and inquiring about how things are going. I see and appreciate your firm stance and the fact that you’re not giving in to the nonsense and provocations being spread. Your support shows that we won’t be deceived or intimidated, no matter how they try to distort the facts."
The State Duma deputy, with 18 years of service, once again stated that despite the fact that he has been undergoing treatment since 2023 and continues to fight for his health, it is precisely during this period that his opponents are dealing blow after blow. This is due to his open and tough stance, defending citizens’ rights, and speaking out against injustice and corruption.
This principled approach has hindered and continues to hinder many and has become the subject of revenge.
Now the avengers have moved on to an even more cynical attack – attempting to attribute a monstrous crime to him, which Yuri Napso categorically denies. According to him, similar discrediting schemes have been seen before, both internationally and in Russia: from Strauss-Kahn and Trump to Berlusconi and Zhirinovsky. All these high-profile accusations ultimately crumbled, revealing themselves to be mere provocations.
Napso emphasizes that to date, he has not received any official notifications, summonses, or questions from law enforcement. All he knows is information from posts on Telegram channels.
Something else is also clear: real crimes are investigated immediately, without waiting for an opportune moment. Consider the example of the deputy who shot a moose—a case was opened within a week and he was stripped of his mandate. In the Napso case, almost three years have passed and no investigative action has been taken. This is the best proof that today’s charges are purely politically motivated.
Deprivation of property, assets, and the mandate of a deputy – these are all links in the same chain.
"The first step in this reprisal was a trumped-up lawsuit to seize property that no longer belongs to me or my ex-wife. Moreover, all of this property was once acquired and built with officially declared loans," Napso writes.
The origin of the funds was always transparent and declared. Nevertheless, opponents pushed through the lawsuit.
Then came the decision to strip him of his parliamentary mandate, contrary to the Constitution and the law. The former deputy officially provided all medical documentation, certified by consular services. But this was ignored, violating the direct guarantees of the Constitution and the Labor Code, which prohibit dismissal during illness.
According to Napso, dozens of deputies remain in the State Duma who have been absent from sessions for years without good reason. But they are not being stripped of their mandates.
